Our 250 x 125mm Green Treated Softwood Railway Sleepers are the most versatile and cost-effective timber sleepers in our range. Lightweight, straight-edged, and easy to handle, these sleepers are the go-to choice for a wide variety of landscaping and garden construction projects.

Sawn and treated with care right here in the UK, each sleeper is pressure-treated with Tanalith E (Eco-treated) to ensure superior resistance against rot, fungal decay, and insect attack. The preservative is completely non-toxic and child- and pet-safe, making them an ideal fit for family gardens, vegetable patches, and sensitive outdoor environments.

• - Versatile Landscaping: Perfect for constructing raised garden beds, retaining borders, garden steps, pathway edging, decking frameworks, and pond surrounds.
• - Easy to Work With: Softwood timber cuts cleanly and drives easily. They accept heavy-duty sleeper screws (such as Timber Titan fixings) directly without the need for pre-drilling.
• - Natural Weathering: Supplied with a subtle green-tinted preservative finish that gradually weathers down to an attractive, silvery-grey patina over several months under natural sunlight.

Custom Planing & Finishing Options

To suit contemporary garden designs and high-contact areas, we offer bespoke in-house machining options:

• - Sawn (Standard): Traditional straight-sawn timber finish, perfect for rustic structures, ground retaining, and general construction.
• - PAR (Planed All Round): Machine-planed on all four faces to achieve a clean, smooth, uniform finish—reducing the risk of splinters and elevating modern garden features.
• - PARB (Planed All Round & Bevelled): Planed completely smooth on all sides with neatly eased/bevelled longitudinal edges, providing a refined, architectural look ideal for low seating walls, steps, and hand-contact borders.

(Note: Planing removes a small amount of timber from the nominal dimensions, resulting in a slightly reduced finished size.)
